SnapCook AI ("we", "our", or "us") is an AI-powered recipe assistant that identifies ingredients from a photo and suggests recipes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

Camera & Images

When you use the Snap & Cook feature, the app accesses your device camera to capture a photo of your ingredients. The image is converted to Base64 and sent to our AI vision provider (OpenRouter) solely to identify ingredients. Images are not stored on our servers.

Usage Data (Local Storage)

We store your daily snap count, reset timestamp, and recipe history locally on your device using SharedPreferences. This data never leaves your device.

Push Notification Token

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send you recipe tips and app updates. Your FCM device token is collected and may be stored on Firebase servers. You can revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings.

Advertising Data

We use Google AdMob to display ads (banner, interstitial, rewarded). AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalised ads in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

Analyse ingredient photos via AI to generate recipe suggestions.
Track your daily free snap quota and reset it every 24 hours.
Save your recipe history locally for your convenience.
Send push notifications about new features or tips (with your permission).
Display relevant advertisements to keep the app free.

3. Third-Party Services

OpenRouter (NVIDIA Nemotron vision model) – processes ingredient images. See openrouter.ai/privacy.
Groq (LLaMA 3.1) – generates recipe text from detected ingredients. See groq.com/privacy.

4. Data Retention

Recipe history and snap counts are stored only on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data. We do not maintain a server-side database of your personal information.

5. Children's Privacy

SnapCook AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

Revoke camera permission via device settings.
Disable notifications via device settings.
Clear all local data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app.
Opt out of personalised ads via your device's ad settings.

7. Security

API keys are embedded in the app for client-side use. All network requests are made over HTTPS. We recommend keeping your device OS and the app updated.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
